Venture Startup and Finance SIG - Beyond the Hype: What it Really Takes to Raise Seed and Series A Funding
Beyond the Hype: What it take to Raise Seed and Series A venture capital
We've all heard the stories: a 22-year-old comes to SV from some startup you've never heard of, raises millions in seed or venture financing-- with no product and a skeletal team. The stories might be true, but they also beg a very important question: is instant success the new normal, or is it just that everyone loves a jackpot story? Raising money is a lot harder than the stories would have you believe--and at this month's VF SIG, we'll be talking all about what it really takes to get your company its first round of solid funding. We've got a great panel of startup CEOs who have been through the drill of raising seed and Series A capital; they'll discuss their successful funding strategies--as well as the mistakes from which they learned.
Join us for an enlightening and entertaining evening!
